ENVIRONMENTAL POLLS
Environmental opinions and attitudes in Arizona and Indiana
The Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust commissioned the Morrison Institute for Public Policy at Arizona State University to poll voters in Arizona and Indiana to learn residents’ opinions and attitudes about the environment. The institute conducted initial polling in 2017 and repeated the poll in 2020. Findings reveal both Hoosiers and Arizonans rank the environment in their top three priorities for government, behind only education and health care. Citizens want state and federal leaders to do more to address climate change, and in both states, the majority of respondents prioritize environmental protection ahead of economic growth. Read the poll reports to learn how Arizonans’ and Hoosiers’ concerns about the state of our environment are increasing, along with the desire for state and federal leaders to take more action.
